Yehoshua Odiase is a graduate of the Faculty of Law, University of Benin, Benin City where he
obtained his LL.B in 2017 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2018 after obtaining his B.L
from the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus. Thereafter, he earned his LL.M degree from the
University of Benin in 2024 as the best candidate in Intellectual Property Law and Insurance
Law. He was sponsored by the UNIBEN Faculty of Law for the World Intellectual Property
Organization (In Collaboration with University of Lagos) Summer School on Intellectual
Property Law and teamed up with other postgraduate scholars across Africa on intellectually
tasking projects.
He is an award winning author and scholar with articles on Intellectual Property Law, Aviation
Law, Public Procurement Issues and Constitutional Law published in several journals and other
platforms. In 2021, he won the prize for the 2 nd Best Article in the Chief Judge’s Essay
Competition for Young Lawyers in NBA-Benin Branch. In 2023, he won the First Prize for the
same Essay competition.
With his specialized, advanced legal training and proclivity for scholarship, Yehoshua is an expert
in Dispute Resolution/Litigation with considerable years of experience. He also has experience
in Arbitration and other Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.
He is an expert in Intellectual Property Law, Election Petitions, Insurance Law, Aviation Law,
Commercial Law (with a strong bias for Consumer Protection Law). Also, as a musician himself,
he has a strong bias for and competence in Copyright Law. He currently advises a number of
Nigerian Start-Ups on incorporation and other regulatory issues.
