Chisom Clare Akwue is a diligent and forward-thinking Legal Practitioner with career interests in the evolving practice of law, finance and sustainability. She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Since being called to the Nigerian Bar, she has been actively building capacity across core areas of corporate legal advisory, particularly in Assets and Wealth Management, ESG advisory, Compliance, and Corporate Governance.
As an Associate at Perchstone and Graeys, she supports clients in transactions relating to corporate compliance obligations, preparing board and committee documentation, and reviewing commercial agreements. She is also an active contributor to the firm’s Trust and Private Client practice group, where she provides legal support on Estate Planning, Succession, and Private Wealth Advisory particularly for High Net-Worth Individuals.
Passionate about the intersection of law, sustainability and responsible investing, she continues to build her knowledge of sustainable finance, ethical wealth structuring, and corporate governance frameworks. She has contributed to internal publications and legal articles, and is actively involved in the editorial team of the firm.
Outside of her role at the firm, she is committed to capacity-building and civic engagement through a range of developmental programs and volunteer initiatives. She is a Fellow of the Innocent Chukwuma Social Impact Chair and Fellowship; a prestigious initiative of the Ford Foundation in partnership with the Lagos Business School.
She is a member of the firm’s Corporate Commercial Advisory & Regulatory Compliance, Private Client & Wealth Management, Banking & Finance, and Energy & Natural Resources practice groups.
